DD knows all the answers for the BrainQuest 3-4 year olds. are there any other types of flashcards people recommend? DD loves doing this kind of thing, but is bored with the set we have.

I would try the next Brain Quest set. We bought them when ds was officially too young but he could still do a lot of the questions.

I'll be interested to hear other ideas as we have now exhausted all the age appropriate ones too!

Oh, you could put them away for a few weeks and see if she remembers them. :) We had ours' out of circulation for almost 3 months and they were like a brand new toy again.

Have you tried the bath or bedtme set? I think they may be for olde kids. I saw them on amazon but no where IRL.

DD is only 2.5, so I'm thinking the 5-6 yo ones would be too hard. I wish I could open a set to look! I haven't seen the bath or bedtime set. I'll check those out on amazon. Hopefully some more people wil have ideas, too. :)

ETA: Ooh: they have a 4-5 yo one. I bet that might work.

Sams club and Costco both regularly have these for around $6.

We got our first set at Sam's club. It was only $7.95 there ($3 cheaper than retail).

We're going to check Costco with a member friend this weekend for more.

Thanks! I've never heard of these before but they sound great!

Just the great reviews on Amazon makes me want to head to Costco as soon as I can.

I saw these in a magazine and I've been meaning to try it since DD loves the BrainQuest cards. It seems similar.

Those look fun. They are more open-ended than Brain Quest. I think we're going to have to get some!

Just a possible warning: the Costco near us doesn't stock the toddler sets. Their stock seems to start with the Preschool set (Amanda the Panda) for 4-5 years, but there is a set called My First Brainquest (with Max the Monkey) for ages 2-3, and For Threes (with Molly the Mouse) for 3-4 years.

We don't stick to the questions necessarily - it's not hard to expand upon the pictures and use them in an open-ended manner.

I think this varies. I have bought the Toddler sets at Costco (2-3yr). I think they do it like Sams where they buy a big box of a variety (more of some than others) and then when that one runs out they get another one. I have been there when it is pretty full and there is selection and other times when there was only one grade level left. Sometimes they don't have them at all, but they eventually come back. It could be that the Toddler sets are popular and/or they don't get many of those in each shipment.

Yeah, that's true! I am happy that I at least got the Preschool set at the Costco price!

Do you have original or junior namits? Do you prefer one over the other? What's the difference?

Thanks!

Thanks for the post on Nameits. I love the open ended questions. Makes a child think.

We have the orginal. Some of the stuff is too hard for Andrew so I just skip them. The Jr. would have been better for him. I got them a year ago from Magic Cabin. They only had the orginal ones.

Just bought Namits original and junior from amazon. Got both for $17ish. They just looked like a lot of fun and you can't beat the reviews here. :)

Just wanted to thank you for the recommendations for Brainquest. DS just turned 3 and received two sets (ages 3-4 and 4-5) for his birthday. He loves them and can't put them down! Found the set for ages 5-6 at Costco and he can alot of those questions, too. The cards are cute, he's learning and I like that they are portable (perfect for at a restaurant when he's finished eating and needs something to do). Now I'll check out the nameits cards! :)

Just wanted to let y'all know that the BrainQuest cards are available at Target now - I've only seen them at Super Target though. They don't have the 2-3 set, but they do have the 3-4 and up from there. I picked up a set last night on impulse and came on today to see this post -they look really cool!
