They say 3 and up, but I see on the boards that people have bought them for younger kids. We were looking at them the other day, and I really liked them, but didn't get any because of the age.

Do they hold up? Are there small parts I should worry about?

TIA

I have them for my DS who is 20 months. There are no small parts that I've noticed and they hold up great. Half the time when he is shaking them they fly out of his hands into a wall or something. Still working though!

Nathan got the race track set for his 2nd bday and it is still going strong. He is not a gentle child by far and other than replacing the batteries and loosing a few accessories from the track its great. They survive falls from a 3 foot tall child onto carpet, hardwood and tile very well.

We got it when DS was 2. It is still played with all the time. There really aren't small parts except for maybe the barrels. And those could be put away if you don't like them. It's a fun toy :) .

DS has had his for a while. We intentionally picked out a race car that was rounded off without a spoiler or engine to come loose:

As opposed to this:

or the off-road vehicles, which have many parts sticking out:

The full selection is on the FP site:

The speedway comes with two race cars that are also rounded off. DS likes to drive his car across the kicthen floor and hallway. I think the track would have bored him after a while.

we have a few of the cars...
DS loves to shake them...
There aren't any small parts to worry about (that I can think of)
