I would love to get DS a personalized Cake Stand to use on his birthday each year. I want one that doesn't look "homemade" you know, the kind with the letters with the little dots at the tip of each line that is hand written by someone- that's just not my style. I really want something professional and classy looking to display. Any idea where to find this?

Are you or anyone you know at all artistic? You can always make something at a paint-your-own-ceramic place. That way, even if it isn't a masterpiece it will probably still look good and have sentimental value. I know you don't want homemade looking but something like putting dc's handprints or footprints on the cake stand would be a really sweet touch especially as every year on his birthday he can compare and see how big he has gotten. :)

Sorry, I have not really seen personalized cake stands anywhere but I haven't looked. I can only picture things like Williams-Sonoma. If I see something I will post it.

I have seen acrylic trays that can be monogrammed and I have a friend who had pewter trays monogrammed with her twins' initials on them. She uses them for their birthday cakes and says they are for their grooms cakes when they marry. I thought that was a pretty cool idea, too.
