I want to buy a kid-sized sling for my DD since she always wants to try on my ring sling and becomes sad when her baby doll falls out. Any suggestions?

Ok, not too much help here but I'm pretty sure I saw them a long time ago (you know, a couple of years) when researching slings for DS. You might try posting in the carriers forum since so many of the mommas there are extremely knowledgable.

I'm pretty sure I've seen others, but not sure which brands, however Maya definitely has a doll sling:

Too bad Zolo discontinued their child slings. They had some gorgeous silks.

There are a few at http://thegreenkangaroo.org/catalog.php?page=4&category=20

I bought one off Hyenacart for around $5. It was a really pretty tie dye.

They are also super simple to make. You can buy the craft rings at Walmart or a craft store for a dollar.

Thanks, everyone, for the links. I ordered one from avababy, and DD picked out the print!

Another option is to get a few playsilks. DD loves to "wear" her doll in various sized playsilks (we do a rebozo-like/ one shoulder carry with the smaller size, and a Rucksack back carry with the large size. Here's a pic of DD:

Let me know if this works, I'm not sure how to upload pics without adding to the mayhem ;)

Cute pics! I don't think it will work for my DD though. She wants to carry her doll just like the way I carry DD2 (in front with a sling). Thanks for the tip, though!

I am incredibly craft-challenged, so even a "super simple" sewing project is beyond me. I think I'll just buy one--thanks so much for the links!

Yeah, I don't have any pictures, but for a sling look, we just use the smaller playsilk and tied a robozo-knot in it to make like a ring-sling/rebozo carry. It works for her (but she's also not walking on her own, so she likes her babies on her back, for easier crawling ;))

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I bought a small kid-sized sling from avababy.com and am pleased. It was the cheapest that I found ($7), and the turnaround time was pretty quick. My DD is now happily carrying her doll in her sling. I think in retrospect I would have spent the extra $1 for a "large" kid-sized sling, but it's good for now!
