Help! Trying to Find a Childhood Book about a Cat

Does anyone remember this? I have tried searching for keywords on the Internet, and nothing comes up....

The book was about a cat who stomped his feet all the way to the attic. I think his name was Clancy. He was mad because his family got a new kitten. Finally at the end of the story he realizes that the kids in the family have two hands - one to pet Clancy and one to pet the kitten.

Does anyone remember this book? Title? Author? Thank you!!
