I can't decide if I should get a combo sand/water table for DS or get him a kiddie pool and a sandbox.

I was thinking of the Step 2 table that has the umbrella, but now that it's getting hot he'd probably like to play in a little pool.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

TIA!

We have a sand/water table (the step 2 one)and an inflatable kidde pool and use both ALL summer. This sounds silly, but I can't imagine not having either one.

We quickly learned that sand and water get mixed up on both sides of the table and for the most part, only fill it one or the other. We've filled it up with other things, like a cornstarch and water mixture for a different play experience.

The pool was used for cooling off and a completely different style of play.

If you're looking to save money, buy used at a yardsale or on craigslist.

We have a sand/water table, and inflatable plastic pools, and the girls loved it. I didn't want them actually sitting in the sand (and bringing it in the house!!) We start out the season with sand in the table, then when it gets warmer, we switch to water (with bubbles!) - it's great that they can stand and play, esp. as they get older. The inflatable pools are fun (again, with bubbles!!) as they can run around and then jump into the water. We also got one of those cheap plastic pools from tru - for when I didn't feel like blowing up the inflatable.
