Does anyone have the svan or the babylon highchair? Now I'm leaning toward one of these, since it can be used with a tray, and can also work when DS gets too big for a high chair (and we only have 4 chairs at the table...) - or DDs could even use it (they're 4.5 now...) I love the look and function of the tripp trapp, but wish it had a tray to go with it.

Any thoughts on either of these? I also saw the Geuther highchair, but it looks like the tray doesn't have much of a lip to keep things contained...

If you have either of these, how easy are they to clean? Are there lots of nooks and crannies for stuff to get into? are they pretty tip-proof? Are they comfy? How easy is it to get the tray on and off? with the svan, do you have the plastic tray to go with it?

can you think of any others to consider?

thanks!!

I have the Svan chair and have been using it since DD was about 6 months old with the tray. She's now 27 months and loves being able to climb up into her own chair at the table. I have been very pleased with the chair both when I used it with the tray and now at the table. It is very lightweight, definitely tip-proof, and takes up little space which was ideal when DD used it with the tray b/c we lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with very little extra space. Sva didn't make the plastic cover when I started using it but it really wasn't a problem. I just cleaned the tray in the sink with soap and water. I highly recommend getting the cushion to add comfort and style. It can be tossed in the washing machine when dirty and comes out like new. The chair is easy to clean but food can accumulate on the metal bolts. If you haven't already made up your mind, I hope that helped.

We've also got the Svan (a gift from Grandma) and like it a lot. We do have the plastic tray cover and I am glad to have it. The chair is sturdy and compact. It is so much nicer to look at than the HUGE Graco highchair that we used with DS and it takes up much less space. I expect that we will use it for a long time.

My only issues so far are that DD will sometimes try to climb out to reach things on the dining room table, but if we lowered the footrest, it probably would be harder for her to do this. Also, DD is a big bouncer when she is excited. She actually bounced two bolts loose over time.

I agree with the PP that the cushion is a good purchase. I just washed ours and it came out perfectly clean and kept its shape.

HTH!

We have the Svan and LOVE it. It looks gorgeous and fits young babies so nicely! The baby rail surrounds them and keeps them safe. It is definitely a stable chair. Ours came with the plastic cover for the tray but honestly, we don't use the tray. DD LOVES to sit right up at the table with us! (she's 8 months). I think the tray will be useful when company is over and we have all seats at the table taken up by adults.

One poster here mentioned that her DD bounced some bolts loose. I know that the instructions tell you to check all hardware periodically and tighten as needed, especially after transporting the chair.

Another thing I love is how unobtrusive it is. It looks just like another chair sitting at our table (albeit a really cool looking chair!) and doesn't take up much space. A friend of ours has the Chicco Polly and that thing is HUGE. It takes up a good chunk of floor space and dwarfs her baby. Totally not my style!
