So we're looking for something we can put in our screened-in porch, in the wading pool area. Right now, what we have there is painted concrete, so I want to put some of those foam mats there so that while the girls are playing in the wading pool, if they fall, they'll have some cushion. Anyone know of good places to get these things? They don't have to have shapes or letters or anything like that. Primary colors or rainbow colors would be nice, but not necessary.

Thanks!

Eileen

They are available at Lowe's, by Mohawk home, and they are acceptable for outdoor use. I've seen primary colors and green; and i have seen all black.

Alessco.com makes the puzzle mats most often seen. I plan to get a mat for our concrete patio.

The cheapest I have seen per square foot are at Sam's club. They have primary color on one side or reverse to solid black if you choose. We padded our exercise room floor with them.

There are 33.5 square feet per $20 package, which brings them in at just under 60 cents per square foot. I have seen similar products in many other places selling for many dollars per foot.

We also used the same brand in our last house, where they held up well. We have been pleased.

ETA: These are the very large tiles: slightly over 2'x 2' each.

I see them at Ross all the time. I can't remember exactly what they cost, but I remember thinking that it was unbelievably cheap.

I've been searching for foam mats also and came across this: http://www.getrung.com/childplay.html They are sold on ebay as well. I like that the pieces are a bigger size.

Ooh, those look nice! I wonder if they'll do a price match on Sam's for per square foot? I'll send them e-mail and ask.

Thanks everyone--you've given me some good ideas of where to look. :)

Jo, I knew I could count on you! :) We are Sam's Club members, so I'll check them out.

We got ours to cover the tile floor in our screened in porch at Ross for about $10 for a set of four large pads. They came in solid colors (red, green, yellow and blue in each set).

We also have the Sams club mats. We use them under out exercise equipment. They're really nice and a good deal for the money.
