We've recently moved and before I start unpacking toys I want to label the bins they go in. After blocks though I'm hitting a blank. What labels do you have on your bins/shelves for toys? I need lots of ideas. I promise I'll post pictures when its all done!

TIA

I bought clear plastic pockets used to stick businaess cards on to folders from office depot

I took pictures of all DD's toys, printed them in photoshop elements (there is a print option to print them business card size) and slide them into the holders.

This system works great for us because I rotate toys in three different rooms and away in the closet. It makes it really easy to change the pabels.

go to www.eichild.com

They have a free label maker. You buy the stickies(Avery) from Office Depot etc.

Scroll down to the bottom. It's on the right hand side.

In addition to pp's list:

music/instruments
puzzles
animals
balls
play doh
art supplies
lacing toys/beads

I guess it kind of depends on how small/large (specific/nonspecific) you want your shelves organized.

Good luck!

I have found pictures online of things that go into the bin, I then print them with a name label, ie Trains with a picture of Thomas. I put them on the bin with clear contact paper. It works really well because the child has a picture clue as well as the word. Very good for prereaders to use the picture clues.

I'm dealing with this right now, but haven't stuck the labels on and started the system. I got some good ideas here. I found photos or clipart at microsoft online, and used those with words.
