automoblox for a five year old?

are these too "baby" or will a 5 yo get enough play value from a few automoblox cars?

I think at 5 yo there is still play value in these cars. Especially if you get more than one so that the parts become interchangeable. They are sturdy wood and are easy on the eyes. This is a nice change from some of the toys out there. DS also seems to naturally treat these more carefully because they seem so special and different to him.

If you shop around and are patient you can usually find some decent deals. Maybe try one out first?

I think a 5 year old would really like them. I have three of these, and they are one of the few toys all my kids play with daily. While my oldest is only 4.5 years old, I can see her playing with them for a long while. They are great for imaginative play, as a puzzle, and as a decorative piece -- so lots of reasons why they have longevity.
