it's like i've totally forgotten what would be good to have around the house this second time around...ideas?

DD's favs are her Haba Max toy (it clacks when you shake it) and the Haba Kringelring. She's got a few other haba toys but those are her favs. She also likes the wunderdice. We had them from DS, and our dog destroyed most of them, but she enjoys the one remaining triangle that makes crinkle sounds ;)

I also just ordered one of the block sets from haba...the set that is $20 or so, and has a block that squeaks, a block with a bell, etc. Those have gotten good reviews in the past.

i can only think of one toy that ds liked and still likes. that is the laugh and learn puppy. we have so many toys but this worked great for us. he was also a fan of LEAP and Lily (leapfrog). HAVE FUN PLAYING....

Do you have an activity mat? the kind with the things that go across the top... that was Jack's favorite thing... you could hang toys from the top and he could grab them or just watch them...
