Thanks so much.

I don't know if this will help with the favors or not. etsy.com is a selling site. I looked up ladybug and over 900 items came up ranging in price from .20 to $750. These are usually one of kind type of things, so you'd have different items for each kid. I see some magnets & buttons in the $1-$2 range, but then there is also shipping to consider. Plus I don't see much that would work for little kids under $2. However, it might be a place to look for some things to use as decorations as well or just get some ladybuy hair accessories for DD.

I recently stumbled across these little wooden cutouts at craft stores (e.g. Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.). I remember seeing little red ladybugs that were very cute ... they are maybe 2 to 3 inches. They are wonderfully inexpensive ... about 50 cents each. They are in the craft wood department. They would be cute for placecards, in a goody bag, etc. I picked some up (party hat shape) to use as nametags for the goody bags at my DS's upcoming party. I also picked up some animal shapes to make into fun magnets for my lil guy.

I don't know if chocolate is appropriate for your guests, but I have seen European chocolates wrapped in ladybug foil at Cost Plus World Market.

Also, not exactly what you asked about, but I have to ask ... have you considered a ladybug Wheelybug for a gift for your DD? http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1182119392/ref=sr_1_1/602-7697765-7695047?ie=UTF8&asin=B000GX0B3M

I got dd the cutest spatula with a ladybug on it yesterday at Williams Sonoma. Not what you're looking for, I know, but if your dd loves ladybugs, she might like helping you bake with one.:-)

Thanks everyone!

I did go to Etsy.. I found some cute ladybug clips I am considering. I love that Wheelybug. It's TDF. My son tried it out at USABaby a few months ago. It's so cute.

I am going to go hit Williams-Sonoma I loved the Bee Hive Cake Pan and they ladybug stuff they have is so cute. On the list is World Market, Michaels, Hobby Lobby.

Thanks so much for your help!

We did a ladybug party for dd's 2nd birthday. For the cake, I made the ladybug body using cakemix baked in a pyrex bowl. The head was 1/2 of a cupcake and I used black licorice for the antennae. I then surrounded it in a field of daisy cupcakes (the petals are marshmallow slices).

For the invitation we used dd's fingerprint and then I filled in the detail with a sharpy. I don't have pictures of the actual invitation but here is the same principle applied to an apron we made for Mother's day.

We didn't have this shirt but here is a very cute ladybug-themed birthday shirt: http://www.cafepress.com/emiandleo.105227318
