for anyone interested in buying more domestic toys in light of the recent Thomas recall (and in the Lounge there is a thread with links to concerns that some of the die cast sets might be involved). I don't get much computer time these days but here are a few places I've found that have cool stuff:
www.maplelandmark.com (we have a few of the trains, not the Thomas/Brio scale, but they are beautiful. They do also have available a small size that are compatible with other wooden railway like Thomas and Brio).
www.heirloomwoodentoys.com has a link to search for made in the USA toys
http://www.tagtoys.com/
http://turnertoys.com/Folk_Toys/wooden_folk_toys.htm
http://www.unclegoose.com/
http://www.woodentrain.com/ (Whittle, compatible with scale of wooden Thomas and Brio)
http://www.elvesandangels.com/
http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/ (dollhouses for the more mature set)
www.bathboats.com
and there are of course more out there, but those are a few I found today or know from shopping in the past.
Don't forget Etsy and other WAHM oriented sites.
www.motherhues.com is always one of my favorite places to browse :)
