A non-PBK version of this toy?

DS loves this puzzle but I'm wondering if I could find a cheaper version. I don't think its worth $40...

I know Haba makes some of their toys but I don't think this is a Haba toy. Anyone seen something similar?

Teacher store usually have a product like these make with unifix cubes or counting rods. I would expect to pay around $20. They would be made of plastic but unifix cubes are great counters for early math problems. I had something very like this when I tought k/1 but they were the property of the school. I'd check lakshore or learnign resources.
