DD is 6 mos and I want to buy her her first dolly. I'm looking for something small, soft, cloth and I want it pretty basic (nothing that lights up, cries, etc.) I've been looking at some kathe kruse dolls at oompa.com for about $20. Any recommendations or good places to buy what I have described?
Thanks!!
Jill

We have the Kathe Kruse Nikki doll. It's really soft and cute. It's tiny, only 8" but the perfect size for a baby. I bought the doll from Magiccabin.com using a code. I also sometimes see them on Kidsurplus.

We also have the Niki doll, and like Angie said, it is small. I got it for my ds#1 and remember being shocked at just how small it was when I received it. But it really is the perfect size for small hands - my ds#2 (now 9 months) loves handling it. Check around for prices, but I am pretty sure Oompa has a $5 off coupon code that never expires (should cover shipping at least). I think it was Monkey05 - you might want to try the Bargains Board.

Here are alternatives to the Waldorf look. The lovey we used was from Manhattan Toy and is discontinued now.

Corolle has a bunch of options. You have to scroll down a little to see.

There are some multicultural options from Fanny's Playhouse. Scroll down to Baby's First Dollies--Heart of Mine, and Baby's First Doll. The Baby's First Doll won a Dr. Toy award.

I noticed that La Petite Tica has a bunch of baby safe options.
