Are Thomas sets in stores NOW safe from the recall?

Wal-Mart has Thomas stuff on sale. I was wondering if it is safe, but on sale because people have stopped purchasing Thomas in light of the recall, or if items in the sets will have to be sent in as per the recall. How does a recall affect retailers?

If an item is recalled, retailers also have to return any items they have, and are certainly not supposed to be selling them.

That said, it's worth it to know what's been recalled -- I pulled a James tender and an Old Slow Coach off of two store playtables and turned them in at the front desk -- both were on the recall list.

Only wooden Thomas pieces were recalled, though, and I don't think that WalMart sells that Thomas line at all. (There is an investigation into Take Along Thomas, but nothing in that line has been recalled.)
