I am looking for a booster seat which we can also bring and use it at restaurants. I prefer the one that was not made in China.
Any recommendations? Which one do you like? Can it be used regularly and replace the high chair at home. Thanks so much.

We've used a Fisher Price booster seat since DD was 7 months old (never used a high chair). It's been great! It cost about $25 at BRU - also available at Target. I think it's called Healthy Start? - it's blue and green.

Target and BRU also sell the kinds that attach directly to the table, but given DD's messy eating habits and desire to self-feed, I'm glad we have a booster seat with its own tray.

As for made in China, I believe the one we own is made in Thailand, but I think you'll just have to look at individual seats to verify.

HTH!

We also had the Healthy Care booster with my DS. We loved the chair. We did use it as a highchair for several months while we were renovating our house. It mostly lived in our trunk and we brought it easily to restaurants when needed. The tray cover helped keep the tray clean while it was in the car. http://tinyurl.com/3bdmcp

For DD we use an inflatable booster. I picked it up at Target when I went to visit my mom and it fit in my small suitcase easily. I like it a lot even though it's not as high as the Healthy Care booster. It's great for travel and lives in our car. I probably wouldn't recommend it as a every day booster since it's a little harder to clean and probably not as comfortable. Since it doesn't have a tray we use it with the Tiny Diner or the stick on Table Toppers.

The only experience I have with hook on chairs are the Regalo, which sucked! and the Graco hook on. I really like the Graco and we use it at my in laws. It hooks on to the table really easily, feels secure, and the tray is easy to use and clean. I've never taken it with me anywhere so I don't know how it would perform in restaurants.

I have a friend that has the Handy Sit chair. She really loves it. I've gone out to lunch with her several times and it really is a cool invention. It installs easily onto most chairs and feels secure. It's kind of expensive but the only chair that comes to mind that might not be made in China. http://tinyurl.com/yq8tqs

Good luck!
