Does anyone know how to clean dolls?

I took DD's American Girl doll out of the suitcase and it was dirty. She has smudges all over her face and legs and I'm not sure from what. She basically just looks dirty.

Dish soap and water is what we used when I was young enough for AG. If she's super dirty, then I know if you send the doll to AG, they'll clean her up, but for a price.

I'm not familiar with the dolls, but is it fabric or plastic/rubber?

We've had good luck just using babywipes on plastic-type dolls.

The dish soap and wipes didn't work. I'm going to call them and see if they can clean it. Poor thing looks like she's been in a fight.

Marisa - you're so lucky that you haven't been sucked into the American Girl black hole. I took dd to have lunch at the cafe when we went up to NYC for a girls weekend. Walked out of there with some nice memories but $250 poorer.
