In my search for DD2's holiday gift I have created a table listing nearly all the wooden play kitchens I could find online. www.tulipmanor.com/woodkitchens.html I left out only those I felt were made specifically for the industrial (i.e. day care) market.

I realize there are still quite a few question marks, but I hope to start calling companies and clearing those up tomorrow. I have been working on this for two weeks already and wanted to get it up before the holiday crunch time. I will try to keep it updated as new products come on the market or old ones leave.

Those products made in America are highlighted in Blue. Those made in Europe I've highlighted in Yellow.

Wow! That's a LOT of work!! Do you have the Willow Toys Kitchen on there?

I do now! I think I was confused between the Willow Tree Toys and the Willow Toys. Thanks for the reminder.

What great info!

Just wanted to add that Back to Basics has a retro kitchen as well:

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see the Haba Jules Kitchen Unit or the Dexton Retro Sink/Stove etc. from the Comprehensive Wooden Play Kitchens thread:
http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=12&topic_id=24124&mesg_id=24124&listing_type=search

I didn't know Guidecraft had a retro kitchen too. I thought I'd seen them all!

I am adding the Back to Basics Kitchen and Dexton Kitchens right now thank you for letting me know! Unfortunately the Haba Jules Kitchen is no longer available. Perhaps they will come out with a new model before the holidays.

I am so glad everyone is enjoying this table!
Heather

ETA: I found another set from Target. Cute pastels and has a matching ironing board! See under "Nice Home"

Thank you so much for your great list. I looked through it and didn't see what I really want, which is the Kidkraft Large Pastel Kitchen, just not in Pastels. We have it, and as far as a play kitchen it is just perfect. It's just so, so, so, PINK!

I know some people have had luck repainting things, but I don't want to risk ruining it since I have a friend I could give it to as is. I really would love the same thing, more or less, just in natural or maybe white. I know Melissa and Doug's kitchen is almost the same thing, but I really want something more neutral looking. It's a big piece of furniture and I wish it wouldn't stand out so much.

So, has anybody found a similar kitchen in a less noticeable finish?

Thank you very much in advance,
Jessica

Updated. I was contacted by customer service from Wooden Toys.com and told that the Prince/Princess Kitchen and Refrigerator are made in America of non-toxic materials/paints. This gives you yet another USA option.

Lakeshore Learning refused to share who manufactures their kitchens saying they are under non-disclosure agreements, but did state that they are made in Taiwan.

Jessica the only other kitchens of a similar nature that I can think of at the moment are these three from Lakeshore. They are much more expensive but are hardwood.

Not to hijack this thread, but this idea is awesome (& costs next to nothing!). Thanks to jkyzer (Jo) for the tip-off!

This is a great idea! Here are a few more. And you didn't thread hi-jack I had been meaning to post some anyway.

For someone with DIY skills.

In German but worth a look because the schematics are great, also can be a puppet theater or a store.

I saw the Melissa and Doug Kitchen today at a local toy store and I really liked it. So much cuter IRL than in the pictures. Also could be customized very easily using wallies or old wall paper*.

*Old wall paper and border can usually be found at thrift store for about $1 a roll. You can attach it with a hot glue gun rather than wall paper paste.
