FYI to those who didn't get one last year the Kidkraft Costco Retro Pink kitchen (ie the one like PBK but a lot less $$$) is back in the stores. I just sent my husband to get us one before they sell out. They only come in pink is the only issue for US as I have a toddler boy(I am going to try to paint it - if anyone has experience with this let me know!)

I don't log in much anymore and I can't change my username (I had my son almost 2 years ago now) but I do read the posts often and wanted to share this with all of you.

Is it this one? Do you know the price? Any opinions? I don't have a membership to costco so would it be worth it for this?

Also looking through their website I fell in love with the KidKraft Land Air and Sea Table. Looks really nice but pricey at $220. Any reviews?

That's the kitchen at Costco right now. Same as last year. $139.99.

They have that train table at Costco too now--$130, I think. Great deal.

$139 for both pieces or just the kitchen unit?

Looks like I'll be heading to Costco this weekend. LOL

The price was $140 for the whole kitchen set--both pieces.

In case you didn't know, there is a Kidkraft Retro Kitchen in blue. Here's what it looks like:

I just bought the kitchen for DD for Christmas. It's a bit smaller than the PBK one, but I liked that since DD will only be 13 months come Christmas. I've heard of people putting it on small blocks when kids get a little bigger.

My SIL has the train table for my nephew and it is terrific, and a fabulous deal at $130. When she was shopping last year, she couldn't find a table alone for that price, let alone the trains and accessories.

Both sell out fast (my costco is down to just a few kitchens), but they often come in several waves leading up to Christmas.

yes, the kitchen is $139 for the whole set and not a lot left at our Costco. I saw the train thing too but didn't get that (maybe I should?) I saw that blue Retro one at Jc Penney and LOVE It but it's not in stores and with the shipping it's $223 so a lot more. I hope I can paint the pink one easily but we'll see if it's a good size as my son is 22 mos and I want him to play with it a few years!

Well I was all set to buy this Island Kitchen, but now I don't know what to do. I feel like the Costco one is a good price even with paying for the membership.

Does any one have the dimensions for the Costco one? How sturdy is it? Will it last several years?

Thanks everyone!

I was told that with an American Express card, you don't need to be a member and don't have to pay the additional 5% non-member fee online. I haven't confirmed it at a store but it's worth asking.

As someone else mentioned on the boards too, it might be somewhat difficult to paint because it is laminated/sealed, if you know what I mean. You would have to sand away all the finish before you could paint it.

I'm not sure size wise how the pink and the blue compare. I like the old fashioned aesthetic of the pink kitchen which was what I had envisioned, but I do think the blue kitchen has more play value (microwave, shelving, etc). I almost wish that the blue one had been available last year because I think my DD would have liked it even better.

I think I heard someone mention that the blue retro kitchen is at Baby Universe for less than JCPenney with shipping.

hi- is there a link with info about painting it on the boards? I'd be curious- I was hoping I could paint it and if not, I may have to return it. I love that blue kitchen and thanks for the Baby Universe link. I do like the shelving on the blue one too.
