Kidkraft Wood Easel - Can you use easel clips on it? How to fasten paper?

Does anyone have the Kidkraft Wooden Adjustable Easel from Costco? It has a paper roll holder/paper roll on the top, which would allow one child to draw on one side of the easel, but I was wondering how I can get paper to fasten to the other side for a second child to draw. I saw the Kidkraft easel on display at Costco, and I can't figure out how to get easel clips to work on it. It doesn't look like it has a narrow slat to clip any easel clips onto the top (maybe horizontally, but not vertically). Is there some way to get easel clips onto this particular easel? Or is there some way to fasten paper without ruining the easel boards?

Any input would be appreciated. I hope I am just overlooking something. The easel looks very similar to this one in style--
