Spin Off- Playstands --Have you made yours?

If you made your playstand(s) how much did you spend on lumber?
I have found a few place online that sell plans--is that what you did?

Going from memory, DH says it was under $100 (which included the wooden canopy portion). DH just looked at some pics and designed the playstands himself. There is a book called Toymaking with Children by Jaffke that has plans for playstands and other toys. Depending on the price of plans in general, you might want to consider the book if you can find it online since it has other ideas too, kwim? I've also heard the suggestion (and it might be from that book) to use an ironing board as a rough pattern for the side portions.

I'm not sure how helpful that is...
