who loves all things garbage trucks? He has a book called "I stink" that he loves, and some matchbox things. Something in the $20 range?

This says 3 and up, but would be OK for some younger kids:

I looked up "garbage truck" in books on amazon.com, and saw several.

I found this shirt:

And I bet you could find a coloring book about trucks and other work vehicles, or jobs people do or something.

There is a book called "Trashy Town" that might be good for him. It's also on a Scholastic video. My mom bought a few of these videos at TJMaxx, and Trashy Town is on one of them, but I don't recall which one.

Book: http://www.amazon.com/Trashy-Town-Andrea-Zimmerman/dp/0060271396/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-5363288-0157445?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1193549996&sr=1-1

Costco has this for 18.99; I'm really thinking about getting it for DS who will be turning two in three weeks.

Oscar the Grouch puppet? That was my brother's favorite toy as a child.

I realize most of the garbage trucks available are 3 and up, although the Geotrax is 2.5 yrs. DS has been enamoured with his trucks since he received the above Tonka at 1.5yr old.

The Tonka garbage truck listed is DS's favorite of his 4! garbage trucks. The arms stopped working after a few months, probably due to DS doing it manually instead of using the control. DS just continues to do it manually instead. The enclosed DVD Where the Garbage Goes is his favorite.

Also, not mentioned elsewhere or below is the Dave Hood There Goes a Garbage Truck dvd. This was his favorite until we watched the Tonka one.

Second the Trashy Town book suggestion - DS loves it.

Here's a link for more ideas.

Also, Geotrax has a garbage truck set - DS is getting it for Christmas.

DS has been consistently playing with his Lego Duplo Garbare Truck (4659) since his second birthday, and he is now almost 4! I highly recommend it :) if you can find it in stock. Here a link to the picture:

I would not pay UK price for it as it used to be $14.99 in the States. My friend (from Holland) who got it for DS has paid more than that of course.

If they do videos, I would recommend "There Goes a Gargage Truck". It was a HUGE hit here when my older son was around that age. We have the old VHS but they now have a DVD called "Truck Adventures" with "There goes a
Truck/GarbageTruck/Fire Truck". Here's a link to it on Amazon though you may find it locally.
