My toddler in very interested in my colored pencils. Anyone have a rec for a brand that's good for toddlers --fat and bright colors?

TIA

I don't have experience w/ them, but I've heard good things about Lyra. I know they make one design w/ a triangular shape, which is easier to grip. I'm not sure how chubby they are, but here's one source:

There is a set of triangular color pencils by Faber-Castell on Kidsurplus:

I don't have it, but I was thinking of getting it.

Lyra Ferby pencils. LOVE them! The colors are so rich and vibrant and they glide onto the paper. We have had crayola and other brands that can be locally bought and the Lyra wins hands down. We have the 12 piece set. I bought them through a co-op awhile ago so I don't know what store would have the best price. http://www.playstoretoys.com/lyra-ferby-colored-pencils-p-127.html

And I know you didn't ask but I highly recommend Stokmar crayons. They are a huge hit with my toddler and my 4 year old. Again, it's the colors. They are so much better than Crayola and the like. I never thought I would pay that much for crayons but once I did I realized just why they are so popular. I bought ours through http://mylittleducks.com/smstick8.html She has coupon codes every now and again.

I third the short Lyra Ferby pencils! They last a long time (we've had them for about a year and a half) and we haven't broken one yet. Since they are sort of triangular shaped, you may want to buy the Lyra sharpener as well.

I picked up these on clearance from Target last year. They're called Crayola Write Start colored pencils. They're a good size for little hands (wider than the standard pencils), non-toxic and are $3.99 on the Crayola site though you can probably find them at other B&Ms. Also, they're hexagonal shaped so no rolling off tables.

We really like them:
