I can't find a store locally with oilcloth and for just one small project I don't want to pay shipping to order itonline. So any other thoughts on what to make a simple painting smock out of?

TIA

Do you have a Sur la Table near you? I just saw those non-PVC aprons by Mimi the Sardine there. http://www.mimithesardine.com/APRONS/aprons.html

You could use a fabric you like and just apply a coat of Scotchgard from the can for stain resistance maybe?

DD uses one of my old t shirts (short sleeved). just a cotton one. it's big enough to cover and protect her clothes and lightweight enough that she is still free to use her arms. dd hates those vinyl smocks at school.

i got the idea, becuase i can remember as a kid in grade school, our art teacher asked us to bring in one of our dad's old shirts 9short sleeved) to use as a smock. worked great. the more paint we got on them, the more we liked it.

DS has a denim one. It works great. The stains add character. :)
