I read the old posts, but I am still stumped - please help me pick a kitchen. I want a wooden kitchen for the kids, but I can only really get one of the following KidKraft ones since I am in Canada and that is all Costco here carries:

1) Pink Retro Kitchen http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11135553&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=

2) Large Pastel Kitchen 1
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11185974&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|25429|74630|74732&N=4020000&Mo=3&No=3&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=74732&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&hierPath=25429*74630*74732*&topnav=

3) Ultimate Wood Kitchen
http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10303510&whse=BCCA&Ne=4000000&eCat=BCCA|20428&N=4009654&Mo=6&No=4&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&cat=20374&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&topnav=

I love the look of the first one, BUT... I hate that it is pink. My DS2 loves to play in a pretend kitchen and he doesn't mind pink right now, but I don't want to be stuck with a pink kitchen that he might not like as he gets a bit older. I am leaning to the second one since it is more gender neutral, but not as cute as the first. DD will one day play with this kitchen, I figure, but I am so not into "gendered" toys.

Hi Marina,
Not to confuse you anymore but if I had to buy another kitchen set (we already have one) I would buy the gender neutral one at Target. And its only $99. I have seen it in the store and it looks sturdy and neat looking.

That one would be perfect... except I am in Canada and Target doesn't ship here. Maybe some stores here have it. I'll have to check. Thanks for the recommendation!

My DD received the pink retro kitchen last year from Santa - she loves it, we got it to replace the large pastel kitchen that she had gotten the previous year - which we still have in the garage. She played with both every day, but we really loved the look/flexibilty of the retro kitchen. The only thing that she misses with it is a microwave (like Mommy). So we are getting her a microwave to go with the retro kitchen and donating the pastel kitchen to another family.

May I ask why you didn't like the pastel kitchen? I got one for my DD for xmas for $139 shipped - haven't assembled it yet but now worried about the purchase. We don't have funds for a more expensive kitchen, so my only other alternative is a plastic one.

Thanks!

I would get #2. It is the most neutral and I think it is very cute. I have seen the pink retro at Costco and it looks so short to me. But it was up high so I did not see it on the ground.

We bought the pink retro one last year. Our girls love it. Like the pp, I also prefer the pink over the pastel colors. I almost didn't buy it because I remember the height was a concern, but I'm so glad I did. The height is perfect for both girls to play together. My 1 year old loves the kitchen and if it was higher she definitely wouldn't get to play as much. If it seems to short in the future Dh says he can always put it on something to make it higher. I do wish they had more counter space though. But overall, I think i's a great buy! Good luck!

There are other wood kitchens in this price range if you decide to return the one you currently have!

Hi Marina,

Does it have to be from Cosco? Sears has a nice Kidkraft kitchen - we actually just ordered it as a joint gift for the kids. But, it is a different style so it may not be what you're looking for.

Thank you! I assembled my daughter's kitchen earlier this week and I think it's great, no need to retun. I am sure she'll enjoy it for a long time.
