Aquadots pulled from TRU Canada

TRU Canada has pulled Aquadots products from their shelves. Not sure what is happening in the US.

I just called Spin Master, which is the company that distributes the Aquadots in Canada and the US. The company has issued a "stop sale" order to all its retailers because of the Australia recall, but the product has not been officially recalled in North America. But, you're not supposed to be able to purchase it (which makes it different from a recall how?!). The CS guy said "the product is perfectly safe to use as intended, but the concern is around small children". Um, yeah, ya think?? I actually looked at it for DD#1, but figured (even without the drug issue) that the dots were too risky to have round DD#2.

OMG, I am in total shock right now. My DS loves aquadots. My DD has put them in her mouth on occasion but I caught her in time. Thank goodness nothing serious happened. :(

No more Aquadots for us.

No kidding! Good grief, how could the manufacturer NOT have known about this hazard? Surely when they were developing the idea they tested it for toxicity?
