where can I return gift that already have? no gift receipt

B got Cariboo for his birthday today and we already have it. Can't I take it back to TRU or Target or somewhere without a receipt and get a credit? I'd love to get him Balloon Lagoon instead.

You used to be able to take stuff back to TRU without a receipt, but not anymore. Now for TRU you have to have a receipt. I think Target allows a person to return an item without a receipt twice within a one-year period, and you get store credit. I don't recall the details, but I remember under certain circumstances having to use the store credit in the same department as the item you returned.

Walmart is pretty good about taking stuff back without a receipt - you could try there...
