DS will be almost 2 1/2 at x mas- trying to see if this is as good as the hype!

My DH wants to get this very badly. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. I don't know what he'll decide. Two cons I've read while looking at reviews are first there is no AC adapter so you go through a lot of batteries and second, it doesn't save your place or even who you are so every child has to start at the same place every time.

And then on the personal, just my child, just my family level, I don't see DD having a huge long term interest in it but I do see a high frustration level but unlike the Leapster L-max that DH also really wanted, I can't just hop on and get her past the hard bits. Also, it is large, I'm not going to want it out if DD isn't playing with it and storing it is going to take up a lot of space.

Jackson got this from my mom for his birthday and has now had it 3 weeks. He LOVES it! He actually rides it even when the game is not on. We bought rechargable batteries for it because of the lack of AC cord but so far the batteries have held up to 3 weeks of hard play. Tyler loves it as well! The game that comes with it has several games but there are additional ones available. Jackson loves the dinosaur one.

I have to say I am TOTALLY ANTI-VIDEO GAME and this was not a purchase I would have made but he loves it and actually exercises so much he sweats so I guess it is good. :)

thanks for the input!

I also don't want something large to store, and am worried if DS will stay interested- he has a VSmile Baby that he's never really been too into. I also am not sure how well he can pedal as we haven't tried lately (he had the foot boards on the Kettler in the summer).

I might ponder it more- anyone else, please feel free to chime in!
