Plan City & Thomas?

Can these work together? I'm planning on getting the Plan City Parking Garage that has a helicoptor landing. Will Harold the Helicoptor work with this or do I need to get the Plan City helicoptor? DS has a birthday right after Christmas so I'm trying to plan out all the gifts from us plus GP's, I've already purchased the Thomas Water Tower & Figure 8 set and want to use as many Thomas characters as I can.
ETA - I'm thinking about the wooden one.
