I am looking to purchase the V-Smile system for my 3 y/o. Some people have said that they don't like it and I was looking for some other opinions on to which is better. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The Leapster would get my vote! We actually have both but the leapster gets more play than the vsmile. The Vflash has MUCH better graphics than the vsmile but I think their games are geared to older kids!

Do you want something portable or something that stays at home connected to the tv?

We went with the Leapster, DD#1 (age 3.5) is getting it for Christmas. It seemed like there were more cartridges for the Leapster than the v-tech and there seemed to be more educational ones than ones that were more like video games. I got Letter Factory and Talking letters (or words? can't remember) to start, probably also getting a Dora one and maybe a princess one. I also found a great price on a Leapster ($29), the vtech stuff never seems to get deeply discounted.
