Is 3.75 too young for a hop ball?

My almost 2 year old is getting a rody horse for Christmas, so I was thinking of getting my almost 4 year old a hop ball. Is he too young/small? He's probably around 38" tall.

My DS got one for his third birthday and he picked it up right away. I think your DS will do fine.
