A friend is an extremely talented artist and does pencil portraits from photos. He does an amazing job!! We had one done last year for SIL/BIL of their kids and they love it. Got a black frame with grey mat at Target for $20 or so and it looks totally professional.
If you are looking for a unique gift idea for someone special, give this a shot. He specializes in people and also does a fantastic job on animals!! He takes such care with his work and is all all-round great guy and daddy of 3.
