ISO: Century SmartFit Plus 22

I am looking for an online vendor selling the SmartFit Plus 22 online. (I got the regular SmartFit Plus from Babies R Us, but they don't carry the 22.) BabyAnt carries the 22, but it's backordered and their shipping costs are very high. I also need a company that will ship to an APO address, if possible. Thanks!

I am also looking for a store or web site that carries this car seat. Everywhere I look they have either the 3pt harness or it only goes to 20lbs! Have they stopped making this seat?

I got the 22 last August from a local Babies R Us and it has been pretty good...I wonder though if they discontinued it in favor of the Celestia V...it has the same limits as the Plus 22 (22 lbs and 29 inches)Or, maybe try Wal-Mart. I'm positive I just saw it there a couple of weeks ago for less than I had paid.

We've heard rumors that Century is discontinuing the seat---which would be typical for Century. We meet with them a few months ago and they promised the Smart Fit Plus 22 would be available through 2001. And then they go and kill it!

Nevermind that last posting. Turns out that is the last one available and its a model they've had on display. The store said those have been discontinued.

Why would they suddenly discontinue it? Does discontinuing it make it any less safe, etc.?

Just an update: Century is NOT discontinuing the seat. We spoke with Century and they confirmed this model is still for sale in stores!

Can Century give us some idea of which stores are carrying this product? I have spent four hours calling every store for my town on their list as well as searching the Internet.

Century told us it is still for sale at "some" Wal-Marts and Toys R Us stores. But as you can see from this discussion, it is spotty at best. Century is trying to get more placement for this seat in stores, but we'll have to wait to see how that goes.

Wish we had better news---it is an excellent seat.

I bought this seat in a small specialty store in Millburn, NJ. It really is a great seat and I am very happy with it. They also sell it in a store called Kids Palace in Patterson, NJ. I called Century directly and they were able to tell me where to shop for it.

I just called Century this morning, and the customer representative informed me that the Plus 22 is now only available in Canada.

My wife and I found the century smartfit plus22 at our local babydepot (burlington coat factory). It was on clearance sale. When we bought it a month ago it was reduced to 59.90, now it is reduced at our local store to 49.90. Not sure if they sell it online though.

The store in Millburn is called Babyland and it is on Millburn Avenue. I am not sure if they still have any but I know they have it at the store in Patterson.
