car seat for Nissan Pathfinder 2000

Trying to decide on the best covertible car seat for 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Hearing mixed reviews on Britax RA, Cosco AO, Evenflow Medallian and Fisher Price. Britax seems to have the most favorable reviews, the only issue is that Consumer Reports rates them as one of the lowest when this system is used without the tether. Our 2000 Nissan does not have the latch system. Need help!!

You can certainly get tether anchors installed in your Nissan Pathfinder. Regardless of the seat you choose, this is an excellent idea. Tethers improve the performance of ALL the seats, significantly.

For the '00 Pathfinder, the part number is 88894-89900 and is about $15. You also need a bolt, which you can get from a Nissan dealer. It is a 8mm x 1.25 bolt. There should be a plug covering the hole with the welded on nut.

Nissan may also charge you for labor to install the anchor. You can also do the work yourself.

Tethers can be a pain to get installed, but are worth the effort. The '01 Pathfinder comes with them pre-installed!
