I am interested in purchasing the Cowmooflage cover for our Britax RA and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this cover or other microfibre ones like it. My concern with Cowmooflage is how difficult is it going to be to keep clean - it is largely white with black patches. Any input would be helpful - thank you!

I bought the Brita Cowmooflage cover and love it. It is really equally cream and black, not really white. I don't feed my baby in the car so I don't thinks stains will be a problem. It's completely washable and you can scotchguard it as well.

I don't have the cowmooflauge cover (though I wish I did!) but I have the Marina fabric, which I think is the same type of fabric (except no white). I have found it extremely soft, and very washable. I've washed my cover at least twice since I got it in June, and the stains have come right out. For us, it is mostly washable marker (at least my son's favorite color is yellow) and ice cream (often chocolate).

I would not recommend scotchguarding the cover unless you check with Britax. The covers are carefully constructed to meet a number of standards, including flamability. Scotchguard might affect some of them. However, I've found all of my Britax covers to be very durable, even though I've washed them regularly.

Hi ~
Having a spare Britax RA seat cover sounds like a great idea. My RA came with the Blue Denim cover, which seems quite durable. Where can you purchase extras? I don't think I've seen any at BRUs, which is where I bought the RA.
TIA!

Thanks for the info everyone! Jules - you can purchase RA covers at the Right Start Store and online at BabyUniverse.com and at the Britax website childseat.com. They run about $40.

Hi Mom@Home ~
Thank you for the information on RA covers. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I've been a busy Mom@Work!! Though next year I hope to be able to stay at home full-time with my DD ~ I envy you!! Well, I'm off to check-out the Baby Universe site. I am partial to the Cowmooflague seat cover.
Thanks again!
Jules

I'm wondering if anyone has called Britax about Scotchguard? I just got an Ashley Floral and would like to at least Scotchguard the seat area and where she would put her hands.

Well ... I wouldn't really describe their fabrics as microfiber - its a little more thick and plush IMO. More velvety than microfibery .. if that makes any sense ... :)

But we LOVE LOVE LOVE our cowmooflage seats!

First ... its like a "natural" cow print. Its not BRIGHT white with black spots ... its like an eggshell white with brown "veins" running through it and big black spots.
So it hides dirt SOOO EASILY and washes up sooo well!

We've had a roundabout cowmooflage cover in constant use for over 3 years now and it looks just as new as our newest marathon in cowmooflage!

So the fabric REALLY washes up well and looks great year after year! :)

Also its a very "breathable" material - I have a bunch of HOT SWEATY kids and they do perfectly well in the cowmoo covers - even in the 100 degree heat with 100% humidity!

Let me see if I can get a few close up fabric pics to work on here for you ...
