Hi. My five month old daughter is close to 20 lbs already. I understand that the Century infant car seat we are using is only good until 20 lbs. I was told that there are some infant rear facing carseats for babies under one year old who are over 20 lbs. Anyone know about these car seats?
Thanks!

Some of the convertible infant/toddler carseats can be rear facing up to 30 lbs. I have a Century Accel, and it is rear facing up to 30 lbs. After you daughter is 1 year and over 20 lbs, you can use this seat forward facing up to 40 lbs.

I hope that helps!

If you still wanted to use an infant carrier longer, Cosco has an infant carseat called the Opus 35, which is good up to 35 lbs. My only hesitation in recommending this seat is the Cosco's recall record is far from stellar. Pretty much all convertible carseats now go up to 30 lbs rearfacing, you just lose the convenience of having a carrier. Good luck!
