We are looking to buy a second convertible car seat since our DD spends a lot of time in both of our cars. We already have the BritaxRA and want something almost as good without paying the same price.
Another factor is that I read somewhere here that bigger babies (DD is 24 lbs at 8 months) grow out of the convert seats before they really belong in a booster. Bedides the Marathon (which I would love but its too $$), is there a good seat with higher weight limits? I think the MA goes up to 65 lbs?
Thanks-
Daniella

You can get the (non-Latch) Roundabout for a great price now. I got mine at Right Start for $139.

Thanks- I have seen those at Right Start but we really want something with LATCH. I have heard good things about the Evenflo Triumph but am afraid that we are already spoiled by Britax.
Any suggestions?

The problem is that nothing really comes close to Britax. Here's a recent thread about the Triumph.

The Marathon really is the only convertible with front facing weight limits beyond 40 pounds. It is also one of the models that allows you to continue rear facing for safety longer than most others. Also see:

There are plenty of other good choices with 30 pound rear-facing and 40 pound front-facing weight limits, but few convertibles currently exceed that.
