Well it's time to get William out of his infant seat and into a convertible seat but I just can't make up my mind between two. I really like the Graco ComfortSport but I don't know if I should get the model with the overhead shied or go for the front adjusting harness.

What do you think.

We have the Century Accel which was the predecessor to the ComfortSport. We actually have 3 with the harness and one with the overhead shield. We did not care for the overhead shield model as much for a younger infant as the fit was not as snug as can be created with a harness model. We like it better for an older toddler. We got a fantastic deal on the overhead, but ended up sending it to grandma's for her to use for our DD. We also found that it is easier for my parents to use the overhead shield as they have less adjusting to do. DD likes having a place to rest her arms and put her cup where she can see it. As for the ComfortSport with harness, I like the security in knowing that I can truly get it tight enough that I can barely squeeze a finger in between the harness and my babies! Just my 2 cents... HTH!

Here's a link with information on a 5-pt harness vs. an overhead shield. The general consensus nowadays is to skip the overhead shield - it can actually be pretty dangerous. Which makes me wonder why they are still sold, but maybe one of our techs can answer that question!
