I was wandering, lost and hungry, in BRUS and bought a newborn neck support pillow (those mini-boppy-like things for his neck). Has anyone used one of these, and did you feel it was actually useful? I'd really only use it in the infant carseat, since I'm postponing buying a stroller.

Thanks!

I did buy one to use in the swing, and unfortunately, I never got it to work. It never really fit right and would pop right off his neck. I found that a rolled towel or receiving blanket around the outside of his head did better at keeping his head in place.

I've only ever heard bad things about them. Something about their little heads going forward and then not getting enough fresh air.

We had the one that is like a pillow. We didn't really use it for that long.

FWIW, most infant carriers come with their own little neck supports and they are the only ones that are "technically" safe to use with that specific seat (since that's what the seat was presumably tested with).

Hi Samantha. If it's to keep the baby's head from flopping forward while in the car seat, then there's a different, safer solution. When a baby's head flops forward, that means that the recline angle on the seat isn't good enough. Here's more information on how to tell what the recline angles is http://www.carseatsite.com/reclineangle.htm . If it's to keep the baby's head from flopping to the side, then a rolled receiving blanket works great. Just put one on each side of the baby's head or make your own head roll out of the blanket by rolling it up.
