I just installed my Britax Marathon RF into my car today (2000 Ford Taurus). DH read the instructions and installed it correctly but it looks lopsided. Has any one had this problem before??? Any suggestions?? It also sits very high...is that normal???

Thanks!

If you have it installed in the middle and tethered on the side, the top may "lean" toward the tethered side. This happened to us in my mom's car. We released the tension on the tether a bit to straighten it. The other thing that can make it look lopsided is if you installed it with LATCH and tightened one side more than the other. Just make sure you have about the same amount of extra strap on each side. And, it does sit pretty high, but once tethered, it doesn't block the view out the back window for us. If you need more recline, you may want to try using a rolled towel or pool noodle.

I find that when I install mine with the lap and shoulder belt, that the shoulderbelt just keeps getting tigher and tighter, and pulling the seat up on one side. A little tipping is ok, but too much is bad. One way to prevent this is to NOT pull the belt all the way out, but to use the lockoffs built in on the seat.

Do you have it tethered? Sometimes that helps with the recline (is that what you mean by "sits up too high"?).

We had a tech install ours at area hospital and when she tethered it, it leaned to the right. She said it was fine and that the tethering made it much more secure.
