View Full Version : Broken part on my MA

I ordered a Britax MA during the co-op (was that in Jan?), and have been happily using it since (rear facing). I just noticed yesterday that the red handle-thingy sticking out of the front facing lock off area is broken off. I never noticed it being there before, and have no idea how or when it broke off.

So, do you think this is a warranty issue? I certainly haven't mishandled or abused the seat... in fact, this could even have been something that happened during shipping that I'd never noticed (my MA arrived in a very beat up box).

Is this something I can live without? Right now we are using the lock offs for rear facing because we wanted to put the seat in the middle rather than on the sides where we have latches.

Thought I'd poll you guys before I go back to Great Beginnings to see if they will help me out.

Thanks in advance for your input.

You can call and get a replacement one free (1888-4BRITAX), since you've had your seat less than a year (and if you sent in the warranty card), and if one happens to break after the warranty is up, you can buy them online http://www.britaxusa.com/shopping.cfm?id=32F3CDEE-BAB3-4B8D-97423CDD74CA10FC&pcid=40926302-C270-4FFC-830431BED4A3B152&pid=7C71C785-4FBA-422D-83DC419B3D5B8213&step=2

Hope that helps, and you are not alone! These things break all the time :P

Thanks, Julie!
I will call for a new one. I assume that they're easy to install??

Thanks again.

I keep hearing they are pretty easy to install...I have a broken RF one, and the replacement part sitting on my desk (dd's ff now, so it's not high priority, lol)...there are some little screws and a detailed-with-pictures instruction sheet, so I don't imagine it being too tough.... :)
