Can someone give me a rundown of the most current recommendations regarding infant seats? The last time I researched this was about three years ago and I know the options are different now. I'd go buy a copy of the most recent BB edition but we just bought a house and money is QUITE tight.

With Lola we used the Evenflo On My Way. We liked the seat overall but had one major complaint that caused us to sell the seat rather than save it for #2--the straps were a nightmare to adjust. We lived in MA and are now in MN, and both are places where in Spring and Fall the weather can go from balmy to frigid quickly. Changing the stap length to accomadate different amounts of clothing was difficult, frustrating, and an all around pain in the rear. So, needless to say, we're looking for a well rated seat that doesn't require special training when it comes to adjusting the straps.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Reviews?

Hi Sarah. The Graco SnugRide has a front harness adjuster (some models have a rear adjuster--just avoid them) and it's fairly easy to use. If you have lower LATCH anchors in your vehicle, the Baby Trend Latch-Loc beats all others in installation, hands down.

There's really been little change in infant seats over the past few years. More have the front harness adjusters now and 5-point harnesses and that's about it. Just look to compare features and see what's easy for you to use.

Also, you can do some preliminary comparisons here: http://www.carseatsite.com/recommended_car_seats.htm
