Will a snuzzler fit in a Marathon for a newborn?
My sis is worried about the head flop factor with her newborn in their marathon ( EDD 8/2/04). Would the snuzzler work in this application? If not what about one of the other head hugger things?

thanks!

Technically you should not add anything to a seat that hasn't been crash tested and sold with the seat (or labeled for use with a seat, as some graco products are), as it may interfere with the seat's performance in a crash. On the other hand, it may not interfere at all, frankly, we don't know WHAT will happen, and Britax advises not to use any extra products with their seats. This is mostly for legal reasons, of course, but it's best for a parent to get the full story before they put anything in the seat. (A snuzzler isn't too thick, but adding any padding will prevent the harness from getting as tight as it should, increasing ejection risk, and any aftermarket head pillows could interfere with the harness in some other way, too)

That said, usually nothing is needed if the seat is at a proper 45 degree angle (it's a Britax, so you can tighten or loosen the rearfacing tether to do this, but it should be NO MORE reclined than the red lockoffs on the side being a perfect 45 degree angle), and the cheapest solution is to roll up a receiving blanket and put it over and to the side of the baby's head, rainbow shaped. (Or if she already has a headrest, cut out the flat part in the middle, so it doesn't get in the way of the harness, but you still have the pillow part to help with any head-flop).
