Need to clean our Marathon...

Our carseat is a grungy mess from our recent road trip. I know the cover comes off to be washed (is it safe to machine wash - will it shrink?) My main concern is the straps. I would be too afraid to unthread them (if that is even possible) but I know there is milk and god know's what soaked into them, and would love to get them clean!

Help, please!!! I know someone will have great advice.

What cover do you have? I think it really depends on the material. Either way, I wouldn't machine wash it unless you have a hand wash cycle. Use a very mild soap, like Woolite (to keep the flame retardent) in COLD water. NO dryer - hang dry.

DH washed our fido cover in the machine with towels and air dried. looks brand new!!!
