You know what we didn't do? Switch your shoulderbelt after we finished our install. It's not *necessary* to do so, but if you want to, just in case your other lockoff gives out, then just gently pull the shoulderbelt all the way out and let it retract slowly, and don't feed it into the retractor any more than to just let the slack be out of it...you don't want it to tug your seat up into a tilt :P.

Anyway, it was totally cool meeting you (Everyone, Marisa is just SO nice!!!!! And her seat was installed well ;) )

Thanks, Julie! I was just about to post a thank you.
Dh is so excited for our new, safer installation. With the tether you created, he definitely won't be cramming three guys in the back seat again anytime soon.

I have no idea what it means to switch the seatbelt, so if it's safe the way it is, I'll just leave it. :)

-other Marisa (not too mechanically minded tonight! oh... maybe it was the margaritas today...heehee)

I *think* she means lock it off. Pull it all the way out and let it go back in, loosely. That way it won't tug at your seat at all, but it will still be locked just in case, and it will be tight. But you don't have to do it if you don't want to.

Right. Remember when I squeaked, "no! don't pull it all the way out yet!" (why do so many things about car seat installation sound naughty? <giggle>)...that's what you can do now if you want...just pull that shoulderbelt ALL the way out and let it back in slowly.

Though honestly, I don't think that lockoff is going to break or snap open, but "just in case" something happens, you'll know you can "switch" the shoudlerbelt to locking mode and your seat will be just fine :)

Thanks! I'll do it today... seems easy enough.

<giggle>... you've been away from dh for too long, here's another margarita toast to a happy reunion! <...urp...>
