Hi everyone!

I'm planning on ordering a MA in the next day or so as my dd has grown out of her snugride. I'm in a fairly hot, humid climate and want to know what people think about their MA covers and heat. Do the really velvety ones seem to be hotter than the denims? Anyone in a hot climate have an opinion?

Also, anyone have a cover that they just love the look of? I wanted Cowmooflage but dh vetoed me so I have to choose another. Ashley Floral is unavailable at this time, and I really need to get this ordered because she had a growth spurt in the last week or so and is almost over the top of her snugride!!! : (

Help!
Linda

We live in California and have a roundabout but in the velvety cover. I loved the cover because it seemed so soft, but Abbie's head is literally dripping whenever we get her out of the car, and it hasn't gotten that hot here yet! We're getting a new cover -- actually a new seat, because our seat is expired and I finally saw the light and decided to replace it for her.

Thanks for the info y'all!!!

The Ashley floral isn't one of the velvety ones is it? It doesn't look like it from the pictures but sometimes it's hard to tell from those tiny swatches.

Thanks again!
Linda

Yes, Ashley Floral is velvety. It's soft and plush, very similar in feel to the Arctic Cat. It's a gorgeous cover!

Interesting, I was told by a retailer that Ashley Floral was cotton. I guess we need some clarification...

I have Arctic Cat and used to live in Southern California, and honestly, it wasn't that bad. Just blast the AC and off you go! It's going to be hot no matter what and a 50/50 cotton/poly cover versus a 100% cotton cover isn't going to make that big of a difference.

I say get the pattern you want!

I live in PA I have the MA with the Colonial Blue cover. It's not as plush as some, but still that soft material. In the summer my daughter complains a lot that she is sticky and hot (even w/ ac on!), and she's not a big sweater in general. She likes the Ashley but I would worry it would be similar 'heat' wise. I was thinking of going with the New Blues one.
Just my 2 cents, it may all depend on your child! My friend lives in Tampa and has twin boys and they never complain (has the colonial blue too).

We live in the HOT and HUMID deep south and we have COWMOOFLAGE seats! :)

I don't find that the kids sweat in them any more than they do in their 100% cotton seats (BTW we also have a funky denim Wizard and a fre cottony covered cosco seats ...)

So The Britax seats are VERY breathable IMO.

Oh and the ashley floral IS velvety!!! No question about that! BUT its sooo cute!!

And the print is light colored - so it wouldnt absorb too much heat!

But it does show dirt. That is my only complaint about Ashley Floral. It shows every speck of dirt, especially where her feet go. My Arctic Cat still looks brand new after 2 years, but Ashley Floral looks dirty after just a few months.

We have Ashley Floral & Cowmooflage - both are velvety. On hot days, I just put one of her old cotton receiving blankets behind DD and it works fine.

No, the cowmooflage doesn't show ANY dirt at all!!

Its like a "dirty cow" print! LOL

Its not BRIGHT white! Its a little off-white an it has brown streaks/veins running in it along with the big black spots.
Looks like the cow has been rolling around in dirt! LOL

Our cowmooflage covers have been puked in, pooped in, spit up on, etc etc and they ALWAYS look brand new after I wash them - and even before that they hide the stains well! :)

Some close ups of the cow moo fabric!
