I guess my question is...should I buy a new one? I have a Graco Snugride from 2002...I used it for both of my boys (3 and 1) and we are expecting #3 this summer. It is in decent shape, but has been stored in the garage (in S. Texas=HOT) when not in use. My boys both outgrew it between 4-5 months, so it hasn't had a ton of use, I just wonder if the heat may have somehow damaged it, and if it would be best to buy a new one. I hate to do that mainly because my babies are large, and it would only be used for a short time. The boys are each in a Britax now, should I go ahead and skip the infant carrier and get a new convertable? Or purchase a new Snugride? Or use the one we have? Thank you for your help, and sorry if I'm rambling!

I'd think you could probaby use the 2002 Snugride. They have a 5 yr lifespan. Or, go straight to the convertible. Which will fit your lifestyle better? You may want to use the baby bucket so you can set the little one down while you chase after the older two! Or, use the convertible and then sling the baby while out and about. Only you can decide!

If you think its in decent shape, its probably ok to use. However, the one thing my DH refuses to take used is the car seat. He equates the car seat to his motorcycle helmet and gets a new one every 2 years. (and he doesn't use his motorcycle that often-maybe 2-3 times a month)
I was offered a 2002 Snugride from a friend that only used it maybe 1/2 dozen times, then it was in storage for all this time. His concerns were that it might have been thrown around or things set on top of it-so it might have lost its effectiveness.
