I received a SR free from a friend :) but one of the canopy middle pieces is broken off (probably trying to get it off!). She suggested duct tape, but DF says buy a piece of metal and he'll screw it in, or s/t.

I don't wanna deal w/all that! I just want to be able to use the canopy ocasionally (no matching stroller; I bought a Valco Runabout w/Toddler Seat, plus I have my Baby Bjorn), so what do you think?

Also, has anyone EVER been able to get their canopy OFF both "rods" in order to wash it? I can't imagine it being able to be done, no matter what that manual says ;)

Thanks,
~Terri

I've read some magical person here say they were able to take that canopy apart, and I worship them. I've put together like 100, and it never gets any easier to do, I don't know how those pieces come apart!
I'd probably try taping the bits together (um...no on the metal idea...*probably* not dangerous, but what if it is?...gives new meaning to mommie dearest screaming "wire hangers?" should it protrude and poke someone!), and then ask around! Maybe someone has a canopy they'll send you...you know, from a crashed seat or something? I'll see if I can find where to get one... then you can either have a mismatched canopy, or try to work at those little tabs/prongs and just use the plastic ribs that aren't broken in your canopy.

*Thank you Julie!!* :)

I just may order the whole canopy 4 piece set ... we'll see. I just wonder how often I'll really use it since I'm not doing the travel system this time.

I never even thought to check if they had a part list, though!!

No, I couldn't get mine off. However, my machine has a No spin option, so I kept the canopy on the rods and washed it this way. Then I let it drip dry (it was really dripping at first since it was WET). I felt that I needed to do something since it had gathered so much dust between kids.

I got my canopy apart. If you slide the fabric all the way to one side you can uncover a joint in the middle. I just took the two pieces of plastic apart. the plastic did get some white marks on it from bending but it went back together easily.
