Car Seat Expiration

DS grew out of our infant car seat carrier, and we're trying to figure out if we should sell, donate or throw it away. It's a Peg Perego and we got it back before DD was born in early 2002 (so I think it might be a 2001 model). How do I figure out when it expires or is there a basic timeline of a certain number of years? TIA!

Look for the manufacture date on a sticker on the seat. It expires 6 years from that date, and likely has a couple of good years left, so I'd personally sell it!

There is not much of a market for used carseats unless they are nearly new so I would donate it. Also- check for recalls since I think Perego had a couple of recalls in the time frame.

Our carseat was made in 07/01, so it's good until 2007. So there's still exactly 2 more years left on the seat, but I don't think we'll have baby #3 within the next 1 1/2 years. So we've decided to give it to our friend who's expecting.

And Katie, you're absolutely right, there was a recall but we got it fixed.
